Harvey Home Connect

Harvey Home Connect is a new common application and coordination system that will assist eligible, low-to-moderate income seekers of home repair services in the City of Houston and/or Harris County affected by Hurricane Harvey. Harvey Home Connect uses data to match eligible homeowners to reputable, vetted nonprofit organizations that provide home repair services. Harvey Home Connect is committed to serving the most vulnerable populations, including but not limited to the elderly, low-income households, people with disabilities, families with undocumented household members, families with children, and households that did not qualify for FEMA assistance.

Rebuilding Together Houston

Since 1982, Rebuilding Together Houston has enlisted community volunteers and licensed contractors to repair the homes of low-income seniors, U.S. Military Veterans, homeowners with disabilities, and working families impacted by natural disasters. Our work helps Houstonians stay in their homes by mitigating health and safety hazards and improving the home's overall stability.

Hope Disaster Recovery

Hope Disaster Recovery is a disaster case management agency dedicated to helping survivors of Hurricane Harvey recover from the storm. We connect Harvey survivors with resources such as home repair, furniture, appliances, and counseling services. Thus far, we have assisted over 1,500 families in their recovery and we are looking to help many more!

Website for Victoria County residents. The Victoria Office of Emergency Management will build and maintain the framework upon which our community prepares for, responds to, and recovers from natural, or man-made disasters or significant emergencies through mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

United Way of the Brazos Valley

United Way of the Brazos Valley assists with coordination of the Brazos Valley Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). In times of disaster, we often raise funds for impacted organizations directly supporting the individuals and families. United Way is also responsible for the 211 Texas Brazos Valley information and referral line. 2-1-1 Texas is the point of contact for communicating resources for active disasters as well as long-term recovery efforts. 2-1-1 Texas works closely with local city and county emergency managers to distribute accurate information to the public. Our role in disaster includes answering urgent caller requests for information, updating our database with active/rapidly changing information and addressing rumors and misinformation.

Mental Health America of Greater Houston

Mental Health America of Greater Houston has an extensive list of psychosocial resources to access help and information. Additionally, through their Mental Health Literacy Department and their Center for School Behavioral Health they are offering trauma-informed workshops in the community for youth, parents, educators, and first/frontline responders.

Network of Behavioral Health Providers

The mission of Network of Behavioral Health Providers (NBHP) is to serve its members, promote the advancement of effective behavioral health services, and advocate for people in need of resources. The purpose of NBHP is to provide a forum for the leadership of Houston’s mental health and substance use providers, both public and private, to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate to improve the community’s behavioral health system.

Harvey Memories Project

A repository created through a partnership between the University of Houston Libraries, Houston Public Libraries, Harris County Public Libraries, and Rice Universtiy to document people's experiences of Hurricane Harvey. The Harvey Memories Project (HMP) provides online access to Harvey-related stories, photos, and short audio-visual recordings contributed by community members.
